As the Police Planning and Research Manager for the Chandler Police Department, Candace Hammond is responsible for the Department’s budget, grant, and forfeiture fund administration, facilities planning and maintenance, capital improvement program planning, strategic planning, crime analysis, uniform crime reporting, investigative assistance, deployment and efficiency analysis, and special project research.
Ms. Hammond began her career in the field of Police Planning in 2002 and has experience in both the Planning & Research Unit and the Crime Analysis & Research Unit of the section. She worked as a Police Planning & Research Analyst for over 10 years, with a focus on the Department’s budget, before being promoted to Crime Analysis Supervisor where she oversaw the Crime Analysis & Research Unit responsible for administrative, strategic, and tactical crime analysis projects. She has been an active member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners and the International Association of Crime Analysts, as well as the Arizona Association of Crime Analysts.
Ms. Hammond holds a Master of Administration-Public Management degree and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies-Sociology degree, both from Northern Arizona University. She is also a Certified Law Enforcement Planner and holds a Certificate in Crime and Intelligence Analysis.
