Lateral Police Officer Process:

  • 5/17/20-6/7/20 – Apply for position via 
  • Out of state applicants must submit a completed and notarized background packet no later than 6/8/20 via our secured web address
      • 1. Go to
        2. Download the Background Packet 2020 (near the bottom of the page), print it (single sided) and complete the forms (needs to be notarized)
        3. Scan your completed and notarized background packet as one complete document on to your computer (please do not scan it as several different documents)
        4. Go to and click on (you will find this link under Lateral Police Officer Process)
        5. You must your personal email address to create an account
        6. You will receive an email with a link to set up your account
        7. Once you have an account, log in and click on the pencil symbol in the top right corner. This will take you to a screen that looks similar to sending an email
        8. Enter into the “To” line
        9. Put your name in the subject line
        10. Attach your scanned completed background packet to the email and press send
        11. You will receive a confirmation email that your background packet has been received.
  • 6/15/20 – Physical fitness test
  • 6/15/20-6/23/20 – Oral board interviews
  • After a conditional job offer: the applicant will complete a Psychological Exam, Medical, Drug screen, and interview with the Police Chief.


NEW Lateral Officer Pay Scale

  • 1 year sworn experience     $27.47 per hour
  • 2 years sworn experience   $28.85 per hour
  • 3 years sworn experience   $30.30 per hour
  • 4 years sworn experience   $31.82 per hour
  • 5+ years sworn experience $33.41 per hour


Police Officer Recruit Process:

  • Apply for position via
  • Written and Physical Agility Test  – TBD.
  • Background interview
  • Polygraph Examination.
  • After a conditional job offer: the applicant will complete a Psychological Exam, Medical, Drug screen, and interview with the Police Chief.

Police Officer Recruit starting salary: $26.17 per hour


Dispatcher process:

  • Submit an application on and wait to hear from Human Resources. If your application is approved, you will receive an email to self schedule for a criticall test date. 
  • Criticall: Monday January 6th through Friday January 17th (you will choose one date)
  • Oral Board Interview: Monday January 27th through Thursday January 30th (you will choose one date). Please bring a completed a background packet to your interview. 
  • Background Interview
  • Polygraph Examination
  • After a conditional job offer: the applicant will complete a Psychological Exam, Drug Screen and interview with the Police Chief. 

BACKGROUND PACKET: ALL applicants (officer, civilian, volunteer) MUST bring a completed background packet (including required copies and packet notarized) to be allowed to test.
