Homicide Suspect Arrested 
For Immediate Release
Thursday April 3, 2008

CHANDLER, AZ. On April 2, 2008 at approximately 8:00 P.M., Chandler Police responded to a 911 report of a woman covered in blood in the area of Saragosa Street and McQueen Road.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered an SUV on Fairview near McQueen Road with a deceased male in the front seat with an apparent gunshot wound.  The deceased man and injured female had both been shot while in the SUV.  After being shot, the woman went to a nearby house to seek help.  The suspect fled on foot and was described as a Hispanic male, in his twenties, wearing a green shirt with curly hair.  Officers searched the area for the suspect.

The deceased has been identified as 19 year-old Chandler resident Xavier Garcia.  The injured female is a 16 year-old Chandler resident.  On April 3, 2008 at approximately 5:30 A.M. a 19-year-old male, Chandler resident was taken into custody for this crime.  The investigation is on going and the suspect’s information is being withheld at this time.  As the investigation unfolds, additional information will be released.
