Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Accident

CHANDLER, AZ. On March 4, 2008 at approximately 4:30pm, the Chandler Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at Ray Rd and Pennington Dr. Witnesses advised that a truck struck a motorcyclist and then was run over. Upon arrival, the motorcyclist was un-conscious and having difficulty breathing. He was transported to a local area hospital with severe head and internal injuries along with a possible fractured femur. These injuries are considered to be life threatening.
Preliminary investigation shows that the motorcyclist was southbound on Pennington and the truck was northbound making a left turn into the shopping center. The motorcyclist struck the right rear bed area of the truck and it is believed that he was then run over by the same truck. Names of the parties involved have not been released due to notification of the next of kin. Impairment does not appear to be a factor in this accident. The Chandler Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.
