Chandler Police Department Receives Grant to Help DUI Enforcement

CHANDLER, AZ. An $80,000 grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) will allow for the additional staffing for DUI enforcement throughout the year.   The goal is to reduce the incidents of DUI related collisions by reducing the amount of impaired drivers on the roadways.   The funds will be used to pay current officers to work additional shifts within the city and with the East Valley Task Force, providing more visibility for deterrence, detection and apprehension of violators of the DUI laws.
