The Chandler Police Department recognized the exceptional efforts of its employees during 2019 at its Annual Awards Ceremony. Department employees gathered on the evening of February 11, 2020 to celebrate the accomplishments of 19 Department members.
The Chandler Police Department is now a participating agency in the Police Foundation’s Police Data Initiative. Through the Police Data Initiative, the general public can now readily access open data information generated by the Chandler Police Department.
The Chandler Police Department is investigating a possible hate crime at 4607 West Boston Street. A Menorah constructed out of pvc pipe was reconfigured into a swastika. Detectives have been assigned the case.
On December 18, 2016 around 6:30 pm an unknown male exposed himself to an adult female as she was walking along Arizona Avenue south of the Elliot Road intersection. He then fled southbound to an unknown destination.
A 45-year-old Tempe resident was arrested for child molestation and other crimes dating back to 1998 and 2004.
The Chandler Police Department, Chandler Fire, Health, & Medical Department, Safe and Secure, Inc., and Ocotillo Friends recently launched a Distracted Driving Campaign to the Chandler community. The campaign is in response to an increase in traffic collisions due to distracted driving.
When you’re out shopping this year, remember to conceal any items of value in your vehicle. Remember where you parked and which door or store entrance you utilized when shopping at a mall. Park your vehicle in a well-lit area and, whenever possible, avoiding shopping alone.
On October 15, 2016, around 11:30PM, two males committed an armed robbery against a couple outside the Red Robin located at 3420 W. Chandler Boulevard. On December 4, 2019 around 3AM, 25-year-old Jonathan Stuber was arrested after a patrol officer saw Stuber as he attempted to burglarize a vehicle.
On Sunday, November 24, 2019 around 5pm, patrol officers were sent to the 200 block of South Kyrene Road for the report of a male slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle. When officers arrived on-scene they discovered the vehicle, a white 2017 Subaru, had been reported stolen earlier in the day with 25-year-old Cesar Limon asleep behind the steering wheel.
