
This person serves as departmental liaison between special interest groups in the community and the Chandler Police Department. The liaison provides information, training, and policy interpretation to special interest groups in the community; works with special interest groups to identify, modify, or change department policies that are perceived as discriminatory or negative by members of the community; makes recommendations on policies, philosophies, and training within the police department that affect relations between the department and special interest groups; identifies available resources that assist in training police officers about the characteristics, behaviors, cultural habits, and attitudes of the various special interest groups in our community; meets with special interest groups to keep abreast of identified problems and to report on progress made toward solutions offered to these problems; attends meetings held by special interest groups for the purpose of maintaining positive relationships between these groups and the Chandler Police Department; and represents the Chief of Police at civic and special interest events.
