There are many opportunities to become part of the Chandler Police Department either as a sworn or civilian employee. The members of the Chandler Police Department are dedicated to the advancement of community policing and the development of a partnership with our citizens. The positions for police officer and dispatcher have closed.

For those in the current officer testing process, the steps are as follows:

  • fill out background packet (see link below)
  • physical Fitness followed by written exam: September 13, 15, 21, 22 (applicant attends 1 date). Bring completed background packet.
  • oral Board panel interview: October 8-11, 22-25, 29-30 (applicant attends 1 date)
  • background Interview: date TBD
  • for lateral applicants: handgun qualification
  • polygraph: date TBD
  • psychological Exam, Medical Exam, Drug Screen, Interview with police chief (once under conditional job offer)

Dispatcher testing process will be as follows:

  • attend skills testing (September 5-15 (applicant attends 1 date)
  • fill out background packet (see link below)
  • oral board panel interview September 25-27 (applicant attends 1 date). Bring completed background packet.
  • command board interview: November 1, 2018
  • polygraph: date TBD
  • psychological exam, drug screen, interview with police chief (once under conditional job offer)
